About Mahanari Gynaecology
London Private Gynaecologist
Dr Tilottama Nandy
MBBCh BAO LRCP&SI MRCOG MRCPI BSCCP cert.
Consultant Gynaecologist
Dr Tilottama Nandy qualified from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland Medical School in 2002, and commenced her specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology (O&G) in 2004 in Ireland. She has had a 20-year expanse of exposure within the specialty, and has benefited from postings in various reputable centres of excellence in Ireland and the UK, as well as specific skill-focused training outside of the British Isles.
Dr Nandy started working within the NHS (England) in 2011, and was admitted to the GMC UK Specialist Register in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, in 2019. She first commenced her consultant practice at the Whittington Hospital (London), in 2018, and was appointed to the post of Consultant Gynaecologist in 2021, at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – an international centre of excellence and the #1-ranked teaching hospital in the United Kingdom. Her responsibilities in this appointment relate to gynaecological cancer diagnostics and colposcopy, but she is a generalist-gynaecologist with past fellowship experience in infertility and reproductive medicine. She is a member by examination, of both British (UK) and Irish Royal Colleges in O&G, and a paid member of several other professional societies aligned with her niche interests, including the BSCCP, ISSVD, and BGCS.
Mahanari Gynaecology is her private practice space, currently based in established North London Hospitals. She also offers virtual consultations, including those from abroad seeking an opinion on UK-style, evidence-based O&G practice.
Her professional commitment to women’s health is holistic, and as the ‘never-ending woman’ she loves to be relate to her patients in a ‘woman-to-woman’ style, whilst offering the sincerest of her medical expertise. She aims to educate and then involve her patients in decision-making, but is honest in dispelling half-truths, and seeks to manage expectations with evidence-based practices in this era of consumerist healthcare.
Other than full-time medical practice, Dr Nandy is a busy wife and mother of two children, and has a healthy obsession with multi-modal exercise and fitness.

“Dr Nandy was lovely and very different from two previous doctors who had treated me for a similar reason. She seemed to genuinely understand what the procedure was going to feel like for the patient and why I was so nervous about it. She was reassuring and quick and spoke to me throughout. I felt I was in safe hands.”
